a simple and very good movie...good story and well directed....sensible comedy...each character has performed well and script is so good that it takes care of each scene and character very well...emotions are handled well..over all its a full family entertainer...recommended to all my friends with family....
Ignore Kunal Kapoor; also ignore sentimentality added to make it a "family film". The rest is worth the watch, especially actors like Vinod Nagpal, Rajesh Sharma. It could have been an outrageously funny movie, but trying to show everyone has a good side kind of dilutes the fun.more
This is a *really* good movie! It has it all: casting, cinematography, screenplay = all on target! Not too much, not too little. Yet It is under-the-radar for movies in the US. It's Bollywood-ish and has subtitles. so you may have to go out of your way to find it. Completely entertaining! Lots of fun and a great <span id="remainingText906096092_771317433" style="display:none;"> Bollywood dance over the credits....more
Quite refreshing, Luv Shuv te Chicken Khurana succeeds in making you hungry after the film!<br />Although old-fashioned, a tad too long and stretched somewhere in the mid of second half, but some witty humor, a strong script, some cool Punjabiness and a couple of very interesting characters compensate for its weak <span id="remainingText876111051_771317433" style="display:none;"> points!<br />Something good...more
The movie has characters which are so accurate and genuine but then the plot has a hint of fiction in it. Had it been set on a non fictitious platform the movie could have pulled out brilliantly. Soundtracks give a good touch to the movie as it is quite slow paced and we do need something to move along. The script again could have done much more had it been tidied up a bit. Thematically its quite accurate as well with the locations. Just the...more
This is a perfect example of interesting synopsis but irritating film. Director Sameer Sharma fails to convey the story in interesting way. Script is forced and very slow. As title suggests this film should have CHIKEN KHURANA as main subject but no, it travels everywhere except its main plot. Sometimes it touches the main plot and again starts roaming around other non-interesting things. Love track is very bad. They tried to make almost very...more
I remember, once I had my privilege to taste my uncle's spicy mutton curry. It's been more than a decade…and I am yet to find the secret of the recipe and those lip-smacking flavors again on my taste buds. So, we had nothing to do last weekend and so we decided to watch this awe- uninspiring movie.<br><br>It starts off well, but as it rolls, the plot is too predictive. The glamor of the movie is the recipe of the movie is Chicken Khurana and the whole idea is so... so hackneyed and vague that you lose all your interest and still there is 30 minutes to go. Sequences like the girl kisses Kunal Kapoor and some farty funny ones will make...more
Before moving on to the review, let me clarify two major points used in the film's promotional campaign by its makers which is bound to give you a slightly wrong idea about the movie altogether.<br><br>The first one being the genre of the film which was strongly promoted as a complete comedy or laugh riot on the lines of few earlier hits based on Punjabi themes such as KHOSLA KA GHOSLA, VICKY DONOR and may be OYE LUCKY...more
Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is deliciously warm. Topped with the earthly music of Amit Trivedi with tinge of fusion director creates a touching tale of a looser who ends up triumphant when tries to dig his own roots in his remote village. Though it is little slow at times, but quickly catches up with another heart warming moment. A must watch.more
In Mumbai, one of the popular eateries is known for serving yummilicious methi malai gosht. Its recipe is kept confidential. I am told, the recipe was known to the father, now the son knows it and I presume, it will be passed on to the next generation at the opportune time, so that the winning recipe remains restricted and confidential to the family only... Another prominent business family specializing in...more

Star Cast: Kunal Kapoor , Huma Qureshi , Rajesh Sharma, Vinod Nagpal, Dolly Ahluwalia, Rajendra Sethi. What's Good: The excellent music; the very apt casting and performances; the dialogues. What's Bad: The slow pace; parts of the movie are predictable. Watch or Not?: Watch Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana for some real Punjabi fun, laughs and touching moments. There's something that Daarji...more
The title is precariously double-edged. It could suggest a dash of dry drollness. It might equally signal a surfeit of drossy, over-the-top flippancy. Happily, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana errs, if at all, on the side of the former. Simply put, this film is a little gem. A well-written and neatly crafted comedy woven around the life and times of a dhaba-owning family in a real Punjab hamlet, it is...more
Anurag Kashyap has been one of Hindi cinema's most prolific producers lately. Apart from releasing a bunch of films in theatres and showing some others at international festivals in 2012, his banner AFKPL has a slate of films lined up for next year. But while the filmmaker and his team continues to give talented filmmakers a platform to tell new stories, in co-productions mostly, it's impossible...more
